Well, I suppose it had to be done at some point, and now is as good a time as any! This is the start of my life in the 'blogosphere'.

So, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Rupert Benbrook, and I live in the UK and work for Microsoft as an Application Development Consultant. Essentially that means I help the development teams of my customers build better applications, primarily using the Microsoft toolset. It's an exciting and challenging role as I get to work with some really clever people across the whole spectrum of development, from strategy and architecture, to nuts and blots development and hard core debugging.

Outside of work you can typically find me relaxing with my wife Joanne and the cats (Syd and Jet), in the garden (I'm particularly passionate about compost and growing vegetables!), or doing something music related at church. I'm a member of the worship team at St. Michael's church in Warfield, so I'm regularly playing bass, guitar, piano, or singing, and planning for upcoming services. All in all I'm pretty busy!

The plan for this blog is for it major on technical content, but I'm sure there will be the odd post that's got nothing to do with technology. My hope is that there will be some people who find the content remotely useful, and through this some kind of community will develop. The challenge for me will be to see if I can post regularly!
